Engineering Manager required for new, state of the art, medical device manufacturing facility in Kilkenny. Strong leadership and people management skills are essential. Proven track record in managing projects within a regulated industry. Preference for automation & assembly process experience. The successful candidate will sit on the senior leadership team on-site.

Role

  • Communicate effectively and participate on cross-functional teams.
  • Manage resources and establish ownership of the project delivery schedules to meet business critical timelines.
  • Direct multidisciplinary engineering, laboratory, and technical teams in support of the manufacturing facility.
  • Provide expertise and resources to drive problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in technical design reviews for process equipment, product design and requirements documents.
  • Liaise with divisional engineering and R&D to support, coordinate and implement global initiatives such as product and process changes / NPI’s etc.
  • Provide direction to project teams, while ensuring timely and comprehensive updates to management across the site.
  • Support the quality of production for the Kilkenny facility.
  • Spearhead and maintain financial integrity of technical Services department.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement within the department using tools such as Performance Excellence review and Growth Plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum NFQ Level 7 Qualification in Science/Business/Engineering.
  • Min 10 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Previous experience in technical role and with strong leadership.
  • Strong Automation and Assembly Process experience preferred
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work assignments in an environment of complex and often conflicting inputs.
  • Technical experience in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline.
  • Experience of managing projects within a regulated industry
